15 April 2013: On the sidelines of the eleventh session of the Committee for the Review of the Implementation of the Convention (CRIC 11), the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) launched the ‘Capacity Building Marketplace.’

This web-based platform will collect needs identified by Parties and other stakeholders, as well as available and emerging capacity building opportunities, and will seek to match them. It includes links to information on e-learning, articles and publications, and volunteerism opportunities.

At the launch event, UNCCD Executive Secretary Luc Gnacadja invited country Parties, organizations and civil society organizations to “drive the demand and get involved in offering the supply” for the Capacity Building Marketplace. Information regarding the Capacity Building Marketplace is being tweeted from @UNCCDcbm. [UNCCD Press Release][UNCCD Capacity Building Marketplace] [IISD RS story on UNCCD Marketplace Preview]
