UNCCD Invites Applications for Scientific Advisory Committee

The Secretariat of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) has invited applications for experts to serve on the scientific advisory committee for the UNCCD 3rd Scientific Conference.

UNCCD24 June 2013: The Secretariat of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) has invited applications for experts to serve on the scientific advisory committee for the UNCCD 3rd Scientific Conference.

The UNCCD 3rd Scientific Conference is expected to convene in 2014 during the fourth special session of the Committee on Science and Technology (CST S-4). Conference participants will address the topic of ‘Combating desertification, land degradation and drought (DLDD) for poverty reduction and sustainable development: the contribution of science, technology, traditional knowledge and practices.’

Applications are requested by 18 August 2013, at 24:00 CET. An application form and a copy of the individual’s Curriculum Vitae should be emailed to: kmst@unccd.int. The selection process will be conducted by the Steering Committee of the UNCCD 3rd Scientific Conference with support from the UNCCD Secretariat.
