5 April 2013: The Secretariat of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) has announced that the UNCCD Capacity Building Marketplace is available for preview. It will be officially launched on 15 April 2013, during the eleventh meeting of the Committee for the Review of the Implementation of the Convention (CRIC 11).

The Marketplace is designed as an interactive, on-line platform, and it seeks to provide a “one-stop shop for all matters related to capacity building within the framework of the UNCCD.” The Marketplace includes information regarding scholarships, fellowships, internships and volunteer opportunities, along with e-learning options, university courses and other opportunities for knowledge sharing.

The Marketplace is managed and maintained by the UNCCD Secretariat, as part of its mandate to support capacity building activities. [UNCCD Capacity Building Marketplace]
