25 May 2012: The Secretariat of the UN Convention to Conference to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) has invited submissions of proverbs regarding soil and land.
Submissions regarding soil and land are encouraged, with the goal to “show how deeply the land and soil are rooted in our well-being.”
As a starting point, the UNCCD Secretariat has provided a few examples, incluing “Body and Land are not two but one” from the Republic of Korea, and “To the one, who gives to the land, the land gives back three times more” from the Russian Federation. [UNCCD Webpage]
