UNCCD Calls for Applications for Advisory Group on Impact Indicators

At its tenth session, in October 2011, the UNCCD Conference of the Parties (COP) decided to establish an ad hoc Advisory Group of Technical Experts (AGTE), to be tasked with continuing the iterative participatory contribution from the scientific community, National Focal Points and Science and Technology Correspondents to the indicator refinement process.

Applications will be accepted from 1-31 March.

UNCCD1 March 2012: The Secretariat of the UN Conference to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) has launched a call inviting applications from experts to act as members of the ad hoc Advisory Group of Technical Experts for Impact Indicator Refinement.

At its tenth session, in October 2011, the UNCCD Conference of the Parties (COP) decided to establish an ad hoc Advisory Group of Technical Experts (AGTE), not exceeding 15 members, to be tasked with continuing the iterative participatory contribution from the scientific community, National Focal Points and Science and Technology Correspondents to the indicator refinement process. The ATGE will seek to provide precise and workable recommendations for refining the provisionally accepted UNCCD set of impact indicators and associated methodologies for consideration by the Committee on Science and Technology (CST) at its 11th session.

Applications for the AGTE will be accepted from 1-31 March 2012. Interested candidates are asked to submit an application form and a copy of their curriculum vitae to indicator.experts@unccd.int. [UNCCD Webpage for AGTE]
