The overview outlines initial steps in advancing the development agenda following the MDG’s expiry in 2015, including the September 2010 MDGs Summit, the establishment of the Task Team in September 2011, and the July 2012 appointment, by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, of a High-level Panel of Eminent Persons. It notes that the post-2015 agenda is linked to the outcome of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).
