8 September 2014: UN-Water has published its “2013 Annual Report,” in which it highlights UN-Water activities including outreach and communication, major events, publications, programmes, thematic priority areas and task forces, and other activities, and governance and financial aspects.
The report also presents interviews with key members of the UN-Water family, which highlight the 10th anniversary of UN-Water in 2013, the outcomes of the International Year of Water Cooperation, the role of UN-Water in the evolution of water as a human right, national stakeholder consultations and the global thematic consultation on water in the post-2015 development agenda, and the compilation and analysis of water information in the UN Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) AQUASTAT database.
The report outlines communications and outreach efforts through the International Year of Water Cooperation and World Water Day, World Toilet Day, and the UN-Water ‘Water for Life’ Best Practices Award 2013.
