The publication of 18 April 2016 (A/70/794) is structured in six sections: Section I provides an introduction; Section II addresses how Member States are responding to the two Agendas and the impact that the responses will have on the UN system; Section III provides a description of the synergies between the UN Secretariat and the wider UN system; Section IV presents the areas of activity on which the UN will focus to support the implementation of the two Agendas; Section V provides the financial implications of the proposals; and Section VI highlights the actions requested of the UN General Assembly (UNGA).

The financial implications of the proposals are a key input to the discussions of the UNGA’s Fifth Committee (Administrative and Budgetary) during its resumed session this spring. The report calls on the UNGA to agree with additional resource requirements in the amount of US$33,486,000 net of staff assessment for the biennium 2016-2017, including the establishment of 62 temporary posts.

The report was submitted pursuant to UNGA resolution 70/247, in which the Assembly requested the Secretary-General to provide a proposal addressing the delivery by the Secretariat of mandates in support of the 2030 Agenda and the AAAA. The AAAA is the outcome document of the Third International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD).
