29 April 2009: The Coalition for Rainforest Nation’s Capacity Development for Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (CD REDD) Programme held the third of a series of three workshops in Dehradun, India, from 27-29 April 2009, under the theme “National Forest Inventory: The Experiences of Non-Annex I Countries.”

The CD REDD programme is supported by the German Ministry of Environment, the German Technical Cooperation Agency (GTZ) and the UN REDD Programme (UN-REDD), in cooperation with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility of the World Bank. Over 100 representatives from forest nations attended to exchange views on national forest inventory and policy programmes. Participants heard presentations by representatives from developing countries and Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) experts explained how to integrate forest inventories in national greenhouse gas monitoring and reporting systems.
