The seventh Policy Board Meeting of the UN-REDD Programme will discuss: member countries' progress in REDD-readiness activities; strategic and policy issues; Nigeria's national programme; and issues dealing with UN-REDD's Global Programme.
30 September 2011: The seventh Policy Board Meeting of the UN-REDD Programme will be held from 13-14 October 2011, in Berlin, Germany. The documentation for the meeting is now available online.
The meeting will address member countries’ progress in REDD-readiness activities, aimed at reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, as well as conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of carbon stocks (REDD+). Participants will also discuss strategic and policy issues, as well as Nigeria’s national programme. They will further address issues dealing with UN-REDD’s Global Programme, including the framework and budget, a progress report on the social and environmental principles and criteria, and an assessment of UN-REDD partner countries’ needs.
