post2015May 2015: The UN Technical Support Team released a list of existing mechanisms that could be used for follow-up and review of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to support discussions at the fifth session of intergovernmental negotiations on the post-2015 development agenda.

The document, titled ‘TST – Selected Follow-up and Review Processes and Platforms: An illustrative, non-exhaustive compilation,’ identifies potential review mechanisms that could address cross-cutting issues, including the UN General Assembly, the UN Economic and Social Council’s (ECOSOC) Annual Ministerial Review (AMR), the High-Level Political Forum on sustainable development (HLPF), UN Statistical Commission, UN Human Rights Council, and the UN regional commissions.

The compilation also includes mechanisms relevant to each of the 17 proposed SDGs, such as the Global Status Report on Road Safety, in relation to health (SDG 3), and the Education for All Global Monitoring Report, in relation to education access (SDG 4).
