September 2010: The Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Unit of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), Division for Sustainable Development (DSD), has released the September 2010 edition of “SIDS Newsletter.” The newsletter was issued to coincide with the convening of the High-level Review Meeting on the Implementation of the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of SIDS (MSI+5), convening in New York, US from 24-25 September 2010.

The newsletter includes articles on: publications released to coincide with MSI+5, the SIDS Trends Report and SIDS-SIDS Success Stories; integrating climate change into national strategies for sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean; the 41st Pacific Island Forum Meeting; the Secretary-General’s Report on the Caribbean Sea; and the Secretary-General’s Report on the Implementation of the MSI.
