A professional development course on 'Green Economy – Policy Measures and Implementation of Green Growth,' provided an overview of the concept of the green economy, and focused on green economy policies and the implementation of a green economy, green growth, and sustainable consumption and production (SCP).

green-economy-israel16 September 2013: A professional development course on ‘Green Economy – Policy Measures and Implementation of Green Growth’ provided an overview of the concept of the green economy, and focused on green economy policies and the implementation of a green economy, green growth, and sustainable consumption and production (SCP).

The course, which took place from 22 July-15 August 2013, in Rehovot, Israel, was implemented jointly by Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation (MASHAV), the Weitz Centre, the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Bank Institute.

It covered topics on, inter alia, policy measures such as energy and resource efficiency, and implementation tools such as green growth strategies and ecosystem services economics. In addition, it showcased examples from Israel’s experience of green growth, as well as international examples and case studies from UNIDO’s technical cooperation projects.
