14 July 2017: Recent events have brought the coastal impacts of climate change into the spotlight. Two international conferences discussed the scientific, research and implementation perspectives relating to sea level rise, and climate change impacts on coasts and coastal communities.

The International WCRP/IOC Conference on Regional Sea Level Changes and Coastal Impacts, organized jointly by the International World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), convened in New York, US, from 10-14 July 2017.
