The Sustainable Urban Transport Project (SUTP) has launched a new publication, titled “Urban Transport and Energy Efficiency,” to guide decision makers and stakeholders towards energy efficient transportation policies.

28 February 2012: The Sustainable Urban Transport Project (SUTP) has launched a new publication, titled “Urban Transport and Energy Efficiency.”

The Sourcebook Module intends to direct decision makers and stakeholders towards measures and policies for greater energy efficiency in transportation, and assigns specific tasks and responsibilities to particular parties. The book also contains case studies related to international experiences implementing measures to increase energy efficiency in transport.

The main sections of the modules focus on: current trends in energy consumption; the different strategic levels at which energy efficiency can be influenced; energy efficiency policies and measures; policy packages for energy-efficient urban transport; and the barriers currently impeding the implementation of energy efficiency measures.

The Sustainable Urban Transport Project (SUTP) Asia is a partnership among the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), CITYNET and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).
