Summary Versions of UN Green Guide Released

The UN Greening the Blue Campaign has announced the launch of a series of two-page summaries and checklists that address, inter alia: climate-friendly buildings and offices; green meetings; sustainable travel in the UN; and sustainable procurement in the UN.

8 February 2012: The UN Greening the Blue Campaign has announced the launch of a series of two-page summaries aimed to assist staff in understanding how sustainability can be embedded in the UN System. The summaries include information on conducting green meetings, sustainable procurement and reducing emissions from buildings.

The summaries and checklists address the following topics: greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions in UN organizations; policy instruments for reducing GHG emissions from buildings; climate-friendly buildings and offices; green meetings; guidance for facility managers on energy efficient buildings; sustainable travel in the UN; challenges and opportunities related to buildings and climate change; and sustainable procurement in the UN.
