Stockholm Convention Requests Comments on Guidance on Alternatives to PFOS

The Stockholm Convention Secretariat has requested comments on the second draft of Guidance on alternatives to perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS), its salts, perfluorooctane sulfonyl fluoride (PFOSF) and their related chemicals.

The Stockholm Convention Persistent Organic Pollutant Review Committee (POPRC) has developed the Guidance.

The Stockholm Convention Persistent Organic Pollutant Review Committee (POPRC) has developed the Guidance.

According to the Secretariat, comments have been received from the Governments of Qatar and Monaco, and the Nordic Institute of Product Sustainability, Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology (NIPSECT). Comments should be submitted to the Secretariat by 21 June 2013. [Stockholm Convention website]
