5 August 2011: The Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) convened a day-long training session attended by over 15 ni-Vanuatu representatives of local media. The workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of the science of climate change, and increase their skills in translating technical information to local communities through the media.
The training took place on 5 August 2011, in Port Vila, Vanuatu. According to SPREP, it is hoped that the workshop will lead to more news articles on climate change and the environment being broadcast and published in the Vanuatu news media.
