The CCAFS workshop on the development of responsive plans to cope with drought, salinity intrusion and flooding in agricultural areas of the Mekong River Delta, held in Can Tho, Viet Nam, on 21 July 2017, informed the participants from the Philippines and Thailand about the climate risk mapping techniques and adaptive planning approaches used in the country.
5 September 2017: The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders (CIFAL) in the Philippines convened a capacity-building workshop on migration data for sustainable development. The CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) hosted a workshop showcasing Viet Nam’s experiences with climate risk mapping techniques and adaptive planning to enhance South-South cooperation in South-East Asia.
The CIFAL Philippines workshop, held in Antipolo, Philippines, from 30-31 August 2017, included expert lectures and practical exercises on migration, data and sustainable development. Workshop participants drafted a work plan that highlighted the interlinkages among migration and local development indicators, and demonstrated key targets and objectives, along with contributions of different local government offices.
The CIFAL Global Network is composed of 15 International Training Centres for Authorities and Leaders across Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, the Americas and the Caribbean.
