SLoCaT Partnership Invites Input on Draft Warsaw Declaration on Low Carbon Transport

The Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT) has invited input on a draft Warsaw Declaration on Low Carbon Transport and Sustainable Development, which it is being developed in collaboration with sustainable transport and development institutions.

slocat23 October 2013: The Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT) has invited input on a draft Warsaw Declaration on Low Carbon Transport and Sustainable Development, which it is being developed in collaboration with sustainable transport and development institutions. The Declaration is being developed with a view to being adopted at Transport Day 2013, and will make recommendations to strengthen the integration of sustainable, low-carbon transportation within the UNFCCC process.

The Warsaw Declaration Drafting Committee is seeking comments and suggestions regarding content, consultation and the appropriate title. On 18 November, the Warsaw Declaration will be sent to UNFCCC Executive Secretary Christiana Figueres as well as focal points and negotiating group chairs. Comments are requested by 4 November 2013.

The SLoCaT SLoCaT is a Type II Partnership and is hosted by UN-DESA, with regional focal points in the Asian Development Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank and the African Development Bank. It seeks to improve knowledge on sustainable low carbon transport to help develop better policies and catalyze their implementation.
