see.euOctober 2014: The final publication of the Sustainable Integrated Management of International River Corridors in South East Europe (SEE) Countries (SEE River) programme has been released. The publication presents the outcomes of SEE River pilot corridors and outlines what happens next in SEE River corridors.

The publication outlines SEE River approaches, overall project results, as well as results from individual pilot corridors. The SEE River project selected six transboundary pilot rivers, engaged stakeholders in cross-sectoral cooperation, used both top-down and bottom-up approaches, shared knowledge and experiences and built capacity for river corridor management.

The project was future oriented and the final report emphasizes that the preparation of the SEE River Corridor Toolkit, improved capacity, engagement and empowerment of stakeholders and development of a permanent network of SEE River experts will ensure long-term change in the management of SEE river corridors.

The programme, which covers the Drava, Bodrog, Neretva, Prut, Soča and Vjosa rivers, is supported by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the SEE Transnational Cooperation Programme and ran from September 2008 until October 2014. [SEE River Website] [Publication: SEE River Final Publication]
