14 March 2009: The second meeting of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Tourism Resilience Committee (TRC) convened at the ITB Travel Trade Show on 13 March 2009, in Berlin, Germany.

The TRC is a platform for information and best practice sharing regarding the current economic downturn and its impact on the tourism sector. The meeting included discussion on: the impact of the economic situation on tourism, including on the airline industry; the public and private response to the crisis; and the role of the sector in the green economy and in addressing poverty and climate change.
