SE4ALL Decade Launched to Business Community

Kandeh Yumkella, the Secretary-General's Special Representative on the Sustainable Energy for All Initiative, announced the Decade of Sustainable Energy for All (2014-2024) to the business community.

The initiative is aimed at promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency worldwide, and will include an annual SE4ALL Forum, with the first Forum convening in June 2014.

The initiative is aimed at promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency worldwide, and will include an annual SE4ALL Forum, with the first Forum convening in June 2014.

Yumkella was speaking at the Bloomberg New Energy Finance Summit, held on 7-9 April 2014, in New York US. Yumkella called on the private sector take the opportunity for innovating and investing, in support of the initiative’s three objectives: ensuring universal access to modern energy services, and doubling the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency and the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix, all by 2030.
