18 February 2015: The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) published an updated version of its report on ‘Indicators and a Monitoring Framework the Sustainable Development Goals: Launching a data revolution for the SDGs.’ The February 2015 version of the working draft takes into account the results of a two-week public consultation in January 2015. The updated report served as an input to the UN Statistics Division’s Expert Group Meeting on an indicator framework for the post-2015 development agenda, held in conjunction with the 46th Session of the UN Statistical Commission (UNSC 46).

The working draft proposes a framework of 100 cross-cutting indicators for all the proposed goals and targets of the SDGs. Approximately 300 organizations submitted comments and suggestions on the draft. Among changes to the report made in response to the consultation are: more consistent use of the terms “monitoring” and “review,” including the adoption of the term “Global Monitoring Indicators;” the inclusion of new indicators; and the addition of a table clarifying the links between the proposed indicators, and the targets set by the UN General Assembly’s (UNGA) Open Working Group (OWG) on the SDGs.

In March 2015, SDSN will issue a revised version of the report, taking into account the outcomes of UNSC 46 and developments in the intergovernmental negotiations on the post-2015 development agenda.
