REEEP Announces Cooperation between reegle and the Clean Energy Solutions Center
story highlights

The cooperation between these two clearing houses for energy resources aims to improve information sharing on clean energy and facilitate interactions between policy makers and energy experts.

20 March 2012: The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) has announced that reegle, a clean energy information portal, and the Clean Energy Solutions Center (CESC) will begin cross-linking many of their resources, while also facilitating interactions between their main audiences.

reegle will offer the possibility to “Ask an Expert” on its website, allowing policy makers to directly pose questions to CESC’s energy experts. CESC will offer links to reegle under its “Featured Resources” tab on its website. reegle is a joint project of REEEP and the Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century (REN21). As a clearing house of clean energy resources, reegle offers country energy profiles, energy statistics, a directory of relevant stakeholders, a search engine for clean energy information on the web, and a clean energy blog.

CESC is a Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) initiative that intends to aid governments in making the transition to clean energy. CESC offers policy best practices, data, and analysis tools, and also serves as a clearing house of clean energy resources.

Besides coordinating with CESC, reegle is also cooperating with the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN), which is an alliance of organizations led by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) that supports decision makers in designing climate compatible development. Data from reegle has recently also been integrated in the CEM’s Solar Med Atlas, which provides data on solar energy for Mediterranean countries, and has been used by the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) in its climate information project, called ci:grasp.
