The Secretariat of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar Convention) has announced that is has started to upload the reports received from the celebrations of World Wetlands Day, on 2 February 2013.
26 February 13: The Secretariat of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar Convention) has announced the upload of reports received from the celebrations of World Wetlands Day (WWD), which was observed on 2 February 2013.
The Ramsar Secretariat has also made available an adaptations page, which showcases the ways parties and stakeholders have adapted the Secretariat’s materials on WWD for use at national and local levels. The page features posters, flyers, pamphlets, calendars, as well as billboards and t-shirts, with translations into national languages.
WWD aims to raise awareness of the vital role healthy wetlands play in sustaining life and its diversity. The 2013 edition of WWD aimed to highlight the importance of conserving and enhancing the ecosystem services provided by water and wetlands.
