February 2013: Preliminary results from the MY World Survey indicate that the top three priorities of citizens around the world are: a good education; an honest and responsive government; and better healthcare. The survey asks citizens to choose six of 16 issues that would make the most difference to their lives.

Preliminary results show that very high Human Development Index (HDI) countries dominate the responses rate, and that priorities vary among low and medium HDI countries. Although responses remained the same for the top three priorities, priorities differed among the low and medium HDI countries. For example, low HDI countries ranked access to clean water and sanitation as their fourth priority while medium HDI countries ranked it seventh.

Currently, 46,613 people from 189 countries have voted. Preliminary results were presented to the UN High-level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda (HLP) at its meeting in Monrovia, Liberia. Additional findings will be shared at the HLP’s upcoming meetings in Bali, Indonesia and New York, US. The UN Development Programme (UNDP), the UN Millennium Campaign (UNMC), the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) and the World Wide Web Foundation developed and facilitate MY World.
