PIFS Announces Release of Pacific Scientific Assessment and Research Report

The report was launched in the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Conference, which convened in Durban, South Africa.

It includes sections on: the current climate; climate variability and trends; climate modelling; performance of climate models; global climate model projections.

8 December 2011: The Pacific Island Forum Secretariat (PIFS) has announced the launch of a report titled “Climate Change in the Pacific: Scientific Assessment and New Research,” the final report of Australia’s Pacific Climate Change Science Program.

The report aims to provide a reference for climate scientists, communities and decision makers in the Pacific in progressing adaptation and building resilience to future climate change. The report was launched on the sidelines of the Durban Climate Change Conference.
