UNGA14 August 2014: The President of the UN General Assembly, John Ashe, has circulated to Member States the Report of the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Financing (ICESDF). The report was adopted on 8 August 2014, during the Committee’s fifth and last session. Ashe notes that the report will be issued as a document of UNGA 69, “for consideration and appropriate action in the context of the Post-2015 Development Agenda.”

The report of the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Financing (ICESDF), along with that of the Open Working Group (OWG) on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the synthesis report of the UN Secretary-General, will be used as input to the preparation of the Third International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD), convening on 13-16 July 2015, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The conference is expected to offer the international community an opportunity to discuss how to concretely implement and finance the SDGs, as noted by the UN Development Programme (UNDP) in a blog post on the Committee’s report.
