The meeting included a special session on agriculture-climate change frameworks in country level CAADP Implementation, under the title “Operationalising the Agric-Climate Change Framework – opportunities to implement large-scale investment programmes to scale-up agric-environment programmes.”
Rhoda Peace Tumusiime, Commissioner for Rural Economy and Agriculture at the African Union (AU) Commission, noted that the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss policy design and ways to improve agriculture in Africa and the lives of farmers and farming communities at a time when international and global dialogue is focused on agricultural performance, food security and climate change.
