The Republic of Palau has become a member of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), bringing the total number of IMO member States to 170.

IMO12 September 2011: The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has reported that the Republic of Palau has become a member, following the 8 September 2011 deposit with the UN Secretary-General of an instrument of acceptance of the IMO Convention.

Palau’s accession to the IMO Convention brings the total number of IMO member States to 170, with a further three associate members. [IMO Press Release]
