27 November 2010: The Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) coordinated a meeting of the Pacific islands countries in Cancun, Mexico, from 21-23 November 2010, to support negotiators from the Pacific region in finetuning their position ahead of the Cancun Climate Change Conference.

During the preparatory meeting, Pacific delegates discussed items on the agenda of the Cancun Conference, particularly climate financing, and received negotiation training based on the adaptation negotiating text currently under discussion. [SPREP Press Release]
