OECD_NEW3 July 2014: The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has made available, in beta, a data portal that provides access to OECD statistical data, including charts, maps, tables and publications.

Launched on 3 July, the ‘OECD Data – BETA’ portal allows for searches by keyword or filtering data based on the topic, country or type of information, such as indicator, database or publication. Topics covered by the portal are: agriculture, development, economy, education, energy, environment, finance, government, health, innovation and technology, jobs, and society.

The OECD Data portal’s topic pages divide information further into topic aspects, such as air and climate, waste and water for the environment topic. Each topic aspect provides access to relevant indicators, databases and publications, and allows for immediate graphic visualization of data sets and trends in a chart, map or table form. On-screen visualizations of environmental indicators are available for air and greenhouse (GHG) emissions, water withdrawals, and municipal waste.

For each OECD member country, the portal also provides graphic visualizations of selected indicators, and a country profile formed of indicators in the 12 topic areas of the portal, as well as relevant OECD country publications.
