New REN21 Executive Secretary Appointed

Christine Lins will succeed Virginia Sonntag-O'Brien, who will be moving on to help build the new UNEP Centre for Climate and Sustainable Energy Finance.

23 May 2011: The Renewable Energy Global Policy Network for the 21st Century (REN21) steering committee has appointed Christine Lins as new Executive Secretary, to be effective on 1 July 2011.

For the past 10 years, Lins has served as Secretary-General of the Brussels-based European Renewable Energy Council, the united voice of Europe’s renewable energy industry. Lins will succeed Virginia Sonntag-O’Brien, who will be moving on to help build the new UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Centre for Climate and Sustainable Energy Finance at Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.
