Gaetano Leone (Italy) began his work as the new Deputy Secretary of the IPCC on 1 January 2011.

January 2011: The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has appointed Gaetano Leone (Italy) as the new Deputy Secretary of the IPCC.

Leone has worked in the UN system since 1988 and has been acting as Secretary of the Committee of the Whole of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Governing Council since 2005. He began his work on 1 January 2011. [IPCC Website]
