As announced by current Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) Ahmed Djoghlaf, incoming CBD Executive Secretary Braulio Dias will take up his assignment on 15 February 2012.
31 January 2012: The current Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), Ahmed Djoghlaf, has announced that his successor, incoming Executive Secretary Braulio Dias, will take up his assignment on 15 February 2012.
The announcement of Dias’ effective date in his new role follows his appointment by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, on 20 January 2012.
