RamsarOctober 2014: Parties to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands have posted their National Reports on implementation, ahead of the 12th meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties (COP12) in 2015.

Parties to the Ramsar Convention meet every three years. The National Reports provide details of national experiences in wetland conservation, allow for monitoring of the implementation of the Convention, and share solutions to problems. The reports contain information on national focal points, summarize progress, and make recommendations for the future with regard to Wetlands of International Importance.

COP12 will be held from 1-9 June 2015 in Punta del Este, Uruguay. The Ramsar Convention on Wetlands is an intergovernmental treaty providing a framework for the conservation and wise use of wetlands and their resources. Almost 90% of UN Member States are Parties to the Ramsar Convention. COP11 was held in Bucharest, Romania. [Link to National Reports] [Ramsar Website]
