CBD Executive Secretary Braulio Ferreira de Souza Dias urged CBD Parties to maintain momentum and ratify the Protocol at their earliest convenience, in order to achieve the goal of reaching 100 ratifications by the second Meeting of the Parties to the Protocol, to be held in December 2016. It is recalled that in December 2015, the UN General Assembly invited CBD Parties to ratify the Nagoya Protocol in Resolution 70/472.
