Journal Issue Focuses on Rio+20 and the Environment

The "International Affairs" journal issue was published in the lead-up to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) and contains articles relating to international politics and environmental sustainability, including institutional and governance matters.

April 2012: Chatham House has published a special issue of the “International Affairs” journal on the topic “Rio+20 and the Global Environment: Reflections on Theory and Practice.”

The special issue contains articles relating to international politics and environmental sustainability, including on: the role of emerging powers in global climate politics; the relationship between the international political economy and the environment; global environmentalism and the greening of international society; institutional diffusion in international environmental governance; engaging the public and private sectors in global sustainability governance; institutional design and reform of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP); how actors and institutions affect domestic and firm policies; and differential treatment in international environmental law.
