The International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) has awarded fellowships for recipients in 17 member countries to participate in international conferences and courses or undertake research in tropical forest management.
The fellowship program aims to promote the sustainable management of tropical forests, the efficient use and processing of tropical timber, and better economic information about the international trade in tropical timber.
26 June 2012: The International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) has awarded 28 fellowships to promote human resource development and strengthen professional expertise in tropical forestry. The fellowships support recipients to pursue training courses in tropical forest management, graduate-level research, internships and attendance of international conferences and symposia, among other activities.

Recipients of the fellowship, awarded biannually through the Feezailah Fellowship Fund, hail from 17 ITTO member countries (in Africa: Benin, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria and Togo; in Asia: India, Indonesia, Myanmar/Burma and the Philippines; in Europe: Bulgaria and Spain; and in Latin America and the Caribbean: Brazil, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico and Peru).
