IRENA Reports on Recent Ratifications

Brunei Darussalam, the Czech Republic, Djibouti, Malta, Seychelles, and the Republic of the Sudan have ratified the IRENA Statute, brining the total number of member States to 75.

2 June 2011: The Secretariat of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) has reported that six countries have recently ratified its Statute, namely Brunei Darussalam, the Czech Republic, Djibouti, Malta, Seychelles, and the Republic of the Sudan.

These recent ratifications bring the total number of State parties to IRENA to 75, in addition to the EU. With the mandate of these governments, IRENA will aim to promote increased adoption and sustainable use of renewable energy by facilitating access to renewable energy information, and enabling the sharing of experiences on best practices and lessons learned in policy, capacity building, financing and energy efficiency.
