The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) has published a complete wind map of the African continent as part of its Global Atlas for Solar and Wind.

The map collects data on average annual wind speeds at 10km resolution and 10m height over the period of 01/2008 – 12/2012.

The Global Atlas for Solar and Wind is an information platform illustrating the renewable energy potential around the world, providing resource maps and tools for evaluating potentials of renewable energies in specific locations.
