IRENA and REEEP Sign Partnership Agreement

At the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP), the Director-Generals of the two organizations underlined the fact that the two organizations compliment each other well.

25 August 2011: The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlining a framework for cooperation for the next three years.

Marianne Osterkorn, Director General of REEEP, noted that the two organizations compliment each other’s strengths well, and that the MoU outlines areas where productive collaborations are planned. Adnan Amin, Director-General of IRENA, stated that joining forces with REEEP will help IRENA achieve its goal of “becom[ing] an inclusive platform upon which governments, scientists, academia, investors and civil society can work together to build a framework to promote renewable energy.” [IRENA Press Release]
