IPY Report: September 2008 September 2008: The September issue of the International Polar Year (IPY) report has been released.

The issue includes sections on the
celebration of the polar day on 24 September 2008, which will focus on people,
and upcoming conferences, namely: the Global Cryosphere Watch (3-5 December
2008, at World Meteorological Organization headquarters in Geneva,
Switzerland); Arctic Change 2008 (9-12 December 2008, in Quebec City, Canada);
and the AGU Conference (15-19 December 2008, in San Francisco, US).
The Report
also features sections on, inter alia: an EU funding opportunity for polar
research, with the PolarCLIMATE call for proposals by the European Polar
Consortium, in association with the European Polar Board of the European
Science Foundation; information on the Arctic Sea Ice; and the International
Polar Year Photo Exhibit. [The Report]
