The Chair’s Vision Paper outlines the IPCC Chair’s expectations for the conduct and structure of the Scoping Meeting, and ideas regarding the content of AR5. On the latter, the paper indicates that the economics of climate change and humanitarian aspects of climate change are emerging as central to future assessments. The paper suggests that “participants of the Scoping Meeting will need to consider the pace at which new information is appearing and the procedures to ensure that the AR5 covers the complete range of possible futures,” and offers a list of issues that could be kept in focus in specific parts of the AR5.
Additional documents recently posted include: the draft agenda and indicative schedule of meetings; policy-relevant scientific technical topics to be addressed in IPCC AR5 – summary of comments from governments and organizations; a corrected version of the decisions taken at the 30th Session of the IPCC; and policy-relevant scientific technical topics to be addressed in IPCC AR5 – compilation of submissions from governments and organizations. A draft report of IPCC 30 is also available online for governmental comments. [IPCC AR5 Scoping Meeting Website]
