International Land Coalition Launches Online Land Portal

It is the product of a partnership of over 40 organizations and was launched by the International Land Coalition, with sponsorship from IFAD.

19 April 2011: The International Land Coalition (ILC) has launched “The Land Portal,” an online platform for information on land. The launch took place at the World Bank Conference on Land and Poverty in Washington, DC, US.

The portal aims to improve transparency, land rights monitoring, and the identification of information gaps for better land governance. It allows users to search multiple databases for updated information by country and theme, and to share knowledge. It has emerged from the ILC, a partnership of more than 40 organizations that is is hosted by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The portal targets government institutions, civil society, mulitlateral organizations, social entrepreurs, academic and research organizations and the media. [Land Portal Website]
