Input Invited on Zero Draft of Voluntary Guidelines on Land Tenure Governance

The Zero Draft of the Voluntary Guidelines has been opened for comment, and the International Land Coalition (ILC) is facilitating coordinated input with a focus on strengthening pro-poor land governance and benchmarks.

26 April 2011: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) has opened for comment the Zero Draft of the “Voluntary Guidelines on Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land and Other Natural Resources.”

The Zero Draft addresses issues including: guiding objectives and principles of responsible tenure governance; policy, legal and organizational frameworks; legal recognition and allocation of tenure rights and duties; transfers and other changes to tenure rights and duties; administration of tenure; responses to emergencies; and implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

The International Land Coalition (ILC) is facilitating coordinated input by ILC members and partners, with a particular focus on strengthening pro-poor land governance and benchmarks.
