11 November 2010: The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) held its 2010 Open Day on 6 November, which was marked with the planting of indigenous trees by IITA staff in Ibadan, Nigeria.

The day highlighted the IITA-Leventis Project, which has raised over 15,000 seedlings from 33 species in an effort to help restore Nigerian rainforests. IITA is a member of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). [Press Release]
