IISD’s Trade, Investment and Climate Change Program Organizes Conference at WTO HQ

The Conference was titled "Trade, Investment and Climate Change: Searching for progress on key issues," and featured panels on: green industrial policy; new findings on competitiveness and leakage; and a wrap-up, high-level panel on what role the trade community might play in addressing the challenges posed in the previous sessions.

November 2011: The International Institute for Sustainable Development’s (IISD) Trade, Investment and Climate Change Program has posted video presentations and background documents from an event it organized at World Trade Organization (WTO) headquarters.

The Conference was titled “Trade, Investment and Climate Change: Searching for progress on key issues,” and featured panels on: green industrial policy (subsidies for renewables, feed-in tariffs, R&D support and other policy tools); new findings on competitiveness and leakage (border carbon adjustment, carbon accounting, GHG intensity standards, sectoral approaches); and a wrap-up, high-level panel on what role the trade community might play in addressing the challenges posed in the previous sessions.
