The Reframing Rio project aims to ensure that issues affecting smallholder farming are addressed at the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).
IFAD has provided US$100,000 to the project, which was designed by NGOs and aims to focus debate on the contributions of a green economy to poverty reduction and sustainable development.
25 April 2012: The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) has announced that it provided the Reframing Rio initiative with US$100,000 to promote the inclusion of rural poverty and issues affecting smallholder farmers in the discussions at the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).
Reframing Rio, a multimedia project of the NGOs tve, Inter Press Service (IPS), and the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), aims to focus the debate on how a green economy can contribute to poverty reduction and sustainable development.
